Mussels & Shrimp Pasta

1 lb. linguine or spaghetti (my preference is brown rice spaghetti)

¼ cup olive oil

1 cup white wine

5 garlic cloves, minced

½ cup sun dried tomatoes

½ cup chopped basil leaves

2 oz. anchovies

2 lbs. mussels

1 lb. peeled shrimps



Dash of Oregano

1 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper

Parmesan cheese


• Rinse the mussels and shrimps
• Bring the pasta to boil and cook until al dente
• Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat
• Sautee garlic in olive oil, about 1 minute. Let the flavor soak in the olive oil
• Add the following ingredients:
sun dried tomatoes
dried crushed red pepper (optional)
• Add the mussels and white wine
• Let it simmer on medium-high heat for 5 minutes. The mussels should open up when it is fully cooked.
• Add the shrimps about 1 ½ minutes (do not overcook the shrimps)
• Stir the mussels and shrimps into the cooked pasta to soak up the sauce.
• Add the oregano & parmesan cheese (optional)


Serve topped with fresh basil and a slice of lemon on the side
