The Black Diamond in Paris
Truffle oh la la at La Maison de la Truffe located at 19, Place de la Madelaine, Paris France. This place has been benchmarked by the truffle world.
Truffle: by definition is the dark or light edible subterranean fruiting body of several European ascomycetous fungi (especially genus Tuber); also: any of various similar fruiting bodies of related fungi.

As we walked in the restaurant, a little shop filled with all things truffle – truffled olive oil, truffled mayonnaise, caviar, whole fresh seasonal truffle, and of course the black diamond truffle. I call it the boutique of truffles. The truffles are grown in the South of France, Australia, Italy & Spain
4 locations in Paris, and the Madelaine is the original place located across the Madelaine church. The smell of truffle can be over powering, intensely truffley. For truffle lovers it is an acquired smell as for some people they question the anemosities of the aroma.
The menu is set up to show three prices for each dish: with no truffles, with seasonal truffles, and with black truffles.
The preparations are traditional – every dish is amazingly tasteful and in big portion. One could really get used to this level of decadence.
The bread and truffle oil as a starter.
I ordered the Tagliatelle with Truffle Cream & Black Truffles. I opted in with the Foie Gras since it brought in more zest. Either way it was heavenly – foie gras or without – you can’t go wrong
Perfectly done fresh & creamiest tagliatelle with truffle sauce and black melanosporum shaved onto the pasta
Mom ordered the Ravioli truffled cream sauce and picked the black truffles
One could really get used to this level of decadence.
