Ristorante Savo – the secret of Atrani
First, what makes Savo élite amongst the so many restaurants at Amalfi Coast? Well, when you eat twice at Savo in a 4-day trip to Amalfi Coast, then what? Must be good food ha! Not only have they served savory dishes made with fresh ingredients, wild herbs,and catch of the day. Simple delicioso menu!
A family owned spot located just about 15-minute walk from Amalfi town. Our Airbnb door also happened to be steps away from Savo – this friendly place is popular with locals from the neighborhood and with tourists.
Gerardo Savo is a graduate of the Institute of Hotel Salerno. Elias and his mom Carla takes care of the front end of the restaurant, and they were so accommodating despite of our language barrier. The back kitchen is ran by father and son.
Our favorite on the menu:
Spaghetti Vongole : Aldente fresh pasta, simple olive oil based sauce, and fresh clams.

So I decided to celebrate my birthday dinner at Savo.

I would like to thank Elias – Savo family for making my birthday dinner extra special. It was exceptional. I think the secret to this remarkable ristorante is the Love shared by their family. The cordiality of the staff/ Savo family was impeccable.

oh! one more thing! Savo’s fresh bread is to die for!
